The Republican Party Chair for Ellis County is elected on even years via the Republican Primary. All Ellis county voters voting in the Republican primary have the opportunity to vote for candidates for this position if there is more than one candidate filing for the position.

Currently Ellis County has 59 voting precincts. Most of these have a Republican Party chair. These Precinct Chairs along with the County Chair make up the Executive Committee. Contested races are included on the Republican primary ballot on even years. Voters voting in the Republican primary will have the opportunity to vote for the precinct chair from their respective precinct provided it is a contested position. Vacancies are filled between primaries by candidates that are vetted by the Ellis County GOP vetting committee then voted on by the members of the Executive Committee. With one exception all elected partisan positions in Ellis County are held by Republicans. All statewide office holders are Republican. The state representative and both state senators representing Ellis County votes are Republican. The US Congressional representative for Ellis County is also a Republican. The Ellis County Republican Party Executive meets monthly (normally on the first Tuesday) . These meetings are open with all Republicans welcome. Meetings often include updates and presentations from elected officials. These meetings are great opportunities to meet and speak with your elected officials and to meet members of the Executive Committee to include your Precinct Chair. The Ellis County Republican Party publishes a monthly newsletter on the Sunday before the Executive Committee meeting. The Ellis County  Republican Party is a operated completely by volunteers. We  have openings for Election Poll Workers, Office Help, Precinct Teams, Sign Placement, Communications/Marketing Help, Event Help and Victory Committee personnel.
